Bem Brasil creates and maintains connections with communities surrounding the factories and Voluntários do Bem program is a way of doing so. In partnership with our collaborators and their family members, we identify local needs and work to support the ones in need through actions such as clothing campaigns, food donations, encouraging blood donations, helping schools and institutions on commemorative dates such as Children's Day and Christmas, in addition to donations to the community, with the main focus on meeting the needs of children and teenagers.

Social actions, sports, and culture through incentive laws

Following government guidelines, Bem Brasil allocates a percentage of our taxes to approved institutions to encourage actions and projects linked to:

All projects enrolled must comply with Bem Brasil's selection criteria and are assessed by a committee, which will select the ones aiming to contribute to a better society.

Impact of actions

Bem Brasil makes financial contributions through Incentive Laws which impact the population directly. In 2022 we impacted around 135 thousand people. In 2023, the projects impacted more than 1 million people.

Support for sports

Among the actions, we support sports projects such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, indoor soccer, paralympic swimming, and martial arts, all of them fostering the inclusion of children and teenagers in sports practice, a powerful tool for the young people's physical and social development, helping to build a healthier and more engaged community.

Support for culture

Furthermore, we support events and plays through cultural projects, enabling the community to develop culturally, in addition to working on sustainability.

Social Responsibility

Through the Children and Teenagers Fund, the company works mainly to support institutions engaged in preparing children and young people for a highly competitive, technological, multidisciplinary world, combining professional development with human beings and their socioeconomic conditions.

Furthermore, through the Elderly Fund, Pronon and Pronas, the company supports projects that work on multidisciplinary activities continuously developed for humane treatment of the elderly, people undergoing cancer treatment, and people with disabilities.

As Bem Brasil is constantly seeking to expand social activities and impact the community directly and positively, we began the project Hortas Pedagógicas in 2023. This project aims at implementing vegetable gardens in elementary and high schools, with children and teenagers working on them to develop knowledge on sustainability, environment, and food security, among many other topics that can be included in the school curriculum.

Mesa Brasil Project / SESC

Bem Brasil and SESC partnered up to support Mesa Brasil program, which is a food bank aiming at combating hunger and waste with donations from partners, contributing to ensuring food and nutritional security of socially vulnerable children, young people, adults, and elderly people all over Brazil. The company has already donated more than 700 tons of product to the program, directly impacting more than 1.5 million people and their families.

Diversity and inclusion

Respecting differences and individualities is part of Bem Brasil's Code of Ethics and Conduct. We foster equal treatment for everyone in our workplace, regardless of ethnic/racial origin, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, age, religious belief, cultural background and points of view, political preference, and socioeconomic status.

Women in Industry: In 2022, we took part in the development of a professionalization project for women in Araxá and Perdizes areas. The initiative, called Mulheres na Indústria, offered industrial mechanics training programs for this audience. The classes were offered in partnership with other industries in the region.

Freedom of association and collective bargaining

Bem Brasil is compliant with the annual negotiations promoted by the Union of Collaborators in the Food Industries of Ibiá (MG) and Araxá (MG).

Encouraging talent development

Among the actions to provide training and incentives for talent development at Bem Brasil are school aid (a benefit that reimburses the professional up to 50% of the monthly fee for technical, undergraduate, postgraduate, and language courses), reimbursement of investment in education, courses, and others.

Bem Brasil University, the Uni do Bem!

With online and in-person activities, Uni do Bem is Bem Brasil's corporate university, which encompasses all of the company's initiatives, such as training, qualification and development, and corporate education - from initial programs (internship and trainee programs), new professionals onboarding, training, skill and potential development, and leaders and executives training programs.

Partnership with Senai and Other Institutions:

Bem Brasil offers professional training courses as established in the Brazilian Regulatory Standards (NRs) of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, including Education for Young Adults (EJA), elementary and high school education, and technical education, in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Training (Senai) and other courses, partnering up with other educational institutions.
